What made you decide to come to HR Access?
I started working for HR Access because a friend recommended the organisation. My friend spoke highly of the company, the opportunities and the management team.
Why do you like working at HR Access?
I enjoy working at HR Access because no two days are the same. There are constant daily challenges. I very much like the fact that I have the opportunity to work on different projects in different countries, with different issues. Working at HR Access enables me to face new challenges and most importantly helps me to further my knowledge in different fields.
What type of person can be successful at HR Access?
Anyone willing to learn, express ideas and live by our values.
How would you describe your colleagues?
The team I work with is an interesting mix of personalities and backgrounds. We constantly challenge and encourage one-another. I am fortunate enough to belong to a group that believes whole heartedly in cooperation and helping one-another.
What can you tell us about ‘life’ at HR Access?
Life at HR Access is in constant evolution and motion. It involves regular events, frequent visitors, etc. There is rarely routine, and many opportunities to learn new things.
How has HR Access supported your development?
HR Access has enabled me to change roles and encouraged me with new endeavours. There have been many training opportunities. I also feel that my colleagues care about my professional success.
Do you have any advice for prospective employees?
Be not afraid of team work. Be positive. Be curious. Be willing and capable of expressing your ideas and thoughts. Think outside of the box.

What made you decide to come to HR Access?
After 5 years previous experience in payroll outsourcing, I decided to join HR Access to be part of a new Outsourcing team. As this was a new group, I was excited by the challenge and opportunity it presented me.
Why do you like working at HR Access?
Firstly the working atmosphere is healthy and friendly despite our day-to-day demands. The support and encouragement I get from my manager is real and sincere. Individuals are respected within a positive company culture.
What type of person can be successful at HR Access?
To succeed in HR Access you should of course be motivated. However the most important thing for me is to be open minded and to have a strong team spirit.
How would you describe your colleagues?
My team comprises colleagues from both HR Access and more recently other external HR and Payroll companies. Despite the fact that our backgrounds are different; we work together as an effective team to deliver high quality service to customers.
What can you tell us about ‘life’ at HR Access?
There is a good atmosphere at HR Access and people are easily accessible. People feel they are working to a common goal and feel part of the company for ages. Another important element for me is that where work pressures exist, management are proactive in addressing this.
How has HR Access supported your development?
HR Access has assisted me in participating in several training programmes to develop my product knowledge. Moreover, it is easy to liaise with the HR department or with management to get information about career opportunities across the firm.

What made you decide to come to HR Access?
I decided to apply to HR Access because I wanted to develop professionally in a company with great opportunities for growth and development. Furthermore, I think that working with pioneering solutions in the Human Resources arena opens excellent opportunities for my career progression. After the interview I realised the job at HR Access would offer me a very interesting role with a variety of things to do in the maintenance & development team.
Why do you like working at HR Access?
I feel my performance is valued. My work pace is respected. I feel part of the team. I have 1:1 meetings with my manager regularly to review progress and he always considers my opinion. I feel lucky to be part of a team where everyone is given an opportunity to contribute where we have regular communication exchanges and we try to solve problems together.
How would you describe your colleagues?
The general atmosphere is good. Working with my team is one of the main reasons why I like coming to work. My colleagues are open, friendly and we help each other. Of course the work is sometimes hard, but it is easy to learn because you feel supported. It is important to keep motivated and here you have the support of your team and your manager.
What can you tell us about ‘life’ at HR Access?
It is positive. There is total autonomy, responsibility and support that enables an optimal work environment. This contributes to satisfaction, career goal achievement and work life balance.
How has HR Access supported your development?
Initially I received training around the modules I am working on but of course there is also an important part of self-learning to learn the product. What really helped me is the team work. This support and collaboration helps you to grow and makes you more willing to learn.
Do you have any advice for prospective employees?
Your first weeks here are a bit scary. However there is nothing to be afraid of, you are not alone at any time. The day to day learning is part of the job. The work is very different but you can learn the product, it’s just a matter of time.

What made you decide to come to HR Access?
I answered a graduate advert in the paper. The role offered training and support so that I could learn and develop. I was looking for a role where I could work internationally and this role could offer me that.
Why do you like working at HR Access?
It can offer you a variety of experiences as long as you are prepared to embrace change yourself.
What type of person can be successful at HR Access?
All different types of people can be successful as there are so many different roles which require different skills. The company does not exclude anyone and there is a very varied collection of employees.
What can you tell us about ‘life’ at HR Access?
My “life” at HR Access has seen many changes and is dynamic. After my initial training I started an assignment in Abu Dhabi for 6 months. Then I was involved in an implementation project in Paris for 8 months. I next moved onto an implementation for a UK company and this was 70% Paris and 30% UK based. In the middle of this I did pre- sales and technical support for a client in Egypt. I then went to Chile to do a project with a large client there. Subsequently I was then asked to go to the USA for 2 years, where I had a variety of roles. Then I went to India for 1 year as a Product Expert and I also helped to develop the skills of other team members. Most recently I have worked in Paris and now in the UK.
How has HR Access supported your development?
My development has been on the job rather than formal training courses and I have learnt a lot through self training, colleagues and a broad range of experiences abroad.
Do you have any advice for prospective employees?
Be open to opportunities. It is important not to be afraid to ask and to interact with those around you. There is easy communication and you should use informal channels to gain assistance and knowledge. Try to go the extra mile.

Background/qualifications: Law degree from University College Dublin. Prior to joining HR Access, Mark worked as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young. During accountancy training, Mark started working in IT and gained experience as an Oracle programmer. Over the years Mark worked with COBOL, RPG, .Net and Java for a wide range of applications and customers.
What made you decide to come to HR Access?
A number of colleagues that I used to work within a fund administration company had joined HR Access and contacted me to let me know that they were hiring and that it was challenging and interesting place to work. I felt at home from the minute that I walked in the door for the interview.
Why do you like working at HR Access?
I’m a bit of a geek and enjoy working with new technologies, molding a set of components into a coherent solution to a real problem. It is very rewarding to see something you have nursed to life, all shiny and packaged-up, providing a simple-to-use service for people who are blissfully unaware of the complexities that lie beneath the surface.
This is what I get to do every day at HR Access and there are new opportunities to learn around every corner.
What type of person can be successful at HR Access?
People who get invested in their work, who feel some ownership over what they do and take pride in doing it well. All you need is a bit of passion, initiative and some hard work.
How would you describe your colleagues?
I’m very lucky to work with some extremely talented people. There is a genuine focus on quality and people are very proud of what their teams deliver. There is also a real spirit of innovation and a sense that all problems have a solution.
What can you tell us about ‘life’ at HR Access?
HR Access is a truly global company so you get to deal with people from many different countries and cultures. It’s a busy place to work and there are some very exciting projects going on at the moment. I’ve certainly never been bored.
How has HR Access supported your development?
I have received a wealth of training during my years in HR Access including Microsoft, Java and CISSP certifications. I’m also currently being funded by the company to study for a Masters. There are constant opportunities to expand my skill set, both business and technical and to travel widely. I have been lucky enough to get a chance to live in the US, Japan and France for prolonged periods of time.
Do you have any advice for prospective employees?
The most important thing about any job is communication, the ability to talk to and to listen to others, to understand what people want and to sell your own ideas.
Don’t be afraid to speak up and voice an opinion. You’ll be amazed how receptive people are and how much you’ll learn in return.
